News as of mid January 2012

happy MLK day!

here’s some news, for those of you who care (even though, as the shins taught us, caring is creepy). just read below for the actual news…

1. we need to sell 300 copies, digital or physical, of Lovely Few albums this year. i won’t trouble you with the details, but suffice it to say that we’ve been on this campaign for about three weeks and we still need to sell ~285 copies. with three albums to choose from, i would hope that we can find ~285 people who like at least one of them enough to dish out the $10 for it.

2. we are booking again, and we have a few shows lined up. namely:

Friday, January 27 at the Midnight Rooster in Hartsville, SC with Ben Walker.

Saturday, February 25 at Bey’s in Columbia, SC (Mike Mewborne solo in a singer-songwriter round).

and finally, we’re booked to play in association with Columbia’s Fashion Week 2012. specifics are still being put together on that.

you can expect more shows coming soon. if you book for a club or event, and would like to speak with us about playing, please email us at thelovelyfew@gmail.com.

3. he have merchandise! namely t-shirts and special “Perseids” posters of the album art, designed by Ben Walker. really.

and if you’re like me, and don’t carry cash, then you no longer have to worry at shows because we can accept credit or debit card payments on the spot.

4. we’re on twitter now @thelovelyfew. follow us.

5. we’re looking for new ways to promote (i.e. video, posters, qr codes, etc.). we welcome your suggestions. just message us here or email us.

6. we’re getting some help with promotions from David R Walters Photography. if you book with them in January and tell them that you are a fan/friend/family member/associate/colleague/know of The Lovely Few, they will donate half of the revenue to us to help us raise money for upcoming releases. this goes for artists who need head shots or press shots, families who want portraits, great world leaders, newly weds, new parents… whatever your photography needs, please direct them to David R Walters Photography. this only goes for January 2012, so please book quickly and help a brotha out.
