Today’s music video entry is from Trey Hobbs who, while not a member of The Lovely Few, is a great friend, supportive fan, and will be doing the lighting for Saturday’s shoot. Here’s what he had to say about Robyn’s video.
That thing is immaculate.
The fact that it is one continuous shot and in an open soundstage already makes it great to watch. Awesome esthetic. The practical lights seamlessly shift to these crazy rock-and-roll lights and back again. And because the video is all one shot, there are no dramatic cuts or any real from the camera, I think lends to the smooth shift from practical to rock show lighting. That and (even though her dance is very choreographed) watching the video makes me feel like Robyn is dancing in the moment and making a good deal of moves up. It’s just a lot of fun to watch I guess.
