Two shows, one weekend

November is nearly here, and we’ll be starting out the month with a double header weekend.  On Friday, November 4, I’ll be playing solo at the first annual Pocket of Charleston music festival at Village Tavern in Mt. Pleasant, SC.  Then, on Sunday, November 6, I’ll be playing at a house show to celebrate the launch of Strangers Magazine, Columbia’s new art zine, at 1600 Green St., Apartment 14 starting at 7pm.

Please come out to one of these shows.  We are trying to promote our latest release, “The Perseids.”

Some things…

First, we are playing a show this weekend.

I have the honor of not only being friends with Mr. Phil Windsor (of Ghosts of the Great Highway), but I also got to play drums on his new record, “Wrestle it Down,” which will be released TOMORROW, 26 March 2011.  Last night I went over to Archer Avenue Studio to practice with Kenny McWilliams, who performed on and recorded the album, and Austin Crane.  Austin, who played banjo on the record, will be playing his solo material tomorrow night as well.  All said, it’s going to be a good night with good music and good friends.

Second, we are booking shows.

After playing twice this week, we will also be playing shows in late April and early May.  30 April with local legends The Restoration, and 6 May with New York gems Girls in Trouble.  More details to come on all of that.

If you would like us to play in your town, please let us know.  We would love to visit.  Probably.

Third, we are working.

And unfortunately that is interfering with the musical work going into the Perseids, our current astronomical epic.  Still, we are making progress with the writing, and I am quite a bit excited about it.  On the downside, I think I am finally biting the bullet and upgrading my Reason 3.0 to 5.0.  Kids today and their Reason 5.0…  When I was your age, we programmed in the snow, uphill, both ways, with typewriters…

Did that sound forced?  It felt forced.

AND, finally,

sales reports are in.  For January.

PLEASE
TELL
YOUR
FRIENDS
ABOUT
THIS RECORD
.

Please?

k, thanks.

Dates

Yeah, what the cool, attractive kids go on… but also like a point in time.

In this instance, it could be both (if you play your cards right, and don’t act too akward) as we have booked some more shows.  I will post more details later, but for now know that we will be playing in Columbia on 21 & 26 March and the end of April with SOME GREAT other acts.  We are also working on May dates.  Wowzers.

So, stay tuned.
