Some 1200 views later.  Still really grateful to Gene Hobbs and Joshua Rainwater for their work on this.  We’re really proud of it.

Take a second to watch it, especially if you haven’t done so yet.  Tell your friends to check it out, too.

And if you want a more stripped down version of the song, check this out.

About to go love on some Scene SC at their fundraiser because they support us and post our videos and such.

Also, Rejectioneers will be there.

Listen to WXRY tonight from 8-9.  And maybe a little before and after for good measure.  You’ll hear us somewhere in there.

See you Saturday at Tapp’s!

Adrian Ward is a smart dude.  He is a wonderful guy, and incredibly supportive of The Lovely Few.  In 2010 he recorded a video of a big house show we did to release our album “The Limited Abilities of Man.”  Heck, he was one of the like 5 people who came to our last show at Conundrum some months ago with Boxwood.

Well, now he’s getting some attention for an article he did for Scientific American.  And when I say attention, I mean like they’re talking about it on the Today show attention.

Anyway, we wanted to jump on his coattails  wish him well with this kind of momentum.  It’s cool to be recognized, though he did note that a lot of the talk seems to be around the fun, quirk of the article rather than the substance.  That’s frustrating.  But still, we hope it opens some doors for him.  He’s a super talented, smart, really nice guy.  It’s cool to see someone we know shaping national conversation, even if it’s not exactly what he had in mind.

Cheers Adrian!

Live video of "Orion."

Our friend Willy Powell shot this at our April 19 Perseids/Orionids release show at Conundrum music hall in West Columbia, SC.  The lights were provided by We Roll Like Madmen.

Enjoy, and pick up the EP for free.

We’ve passed 300 hits.

That’s no Kony-level-internet-stardom, but we’ll take it.

If you haven’t seen our debut video yet, please take 5 minutes out of your day to check it out.

Almost 300:

Our video for Cassiopeia, the first single from The Perseids, has almost been out a full week.  We would love to get as many hits as possible within that time.  We’re almost at 300, but I say we aim for 500 by the weekend.

The Perseids will be released by Hearts and Plugs on April 10, 2012.  We will celebrate this release with a show at Conundrum in West Columbia, SC, on Thursday, April 19.

For now, enjoy the video.  Tell your friends.  Post a link.

Josh Rainwater on some of his favorite music videos

I was actually going to put that Robyn video as well. That junk is sweet. And she does the Electric Slide at one point.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Rabbit In Your Headlights [ft. Thom Yorke] - UNKLE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cud_k9f6tqk
It’s ever haunting.

Drop - The Pharcyde
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co3qMdkucM0
I mean, come on. Even if you don’t like rap (looking at you, mom) you have to dig this bit.

Who Dat - J. Cole
http://vimeo.com/12449882
I’m not a fan of the song, nor do I even know any of the words, but you cannot deny the expertise of a giant tracking shot AND a marching band. Dang.

This entry in our favorite music videos segment is from Columbia’s favorite horn/iPad player, Alan Davis.

Muse - time is running out.
First off, I love Muse and wish I could be them. Duh. But this video always sent tingles down my leg. I mean, it is modeled after classic Dr. Strangelove Stanley Kubrick magic, and is based on the idea of a secret government running the world behind closed doors, but instead of making decisions they sit around playing games. AND there are a bunch of girls dancing around in it. What’s not to love?
Honorable mentions go to Gambino and Muse again.  In fact, just watch any Muse video.  We’re for it.
